Providing Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) can fill in less productive times of the week. Such examinations can be conducted without requiring the support of your existing practice administrative personnel, and can expand your patient base and practice.
CorVel's IME service assists physicians by providing prompt payment, transcriptions services, organization of medical records and managing all patient appointment confirmations. We receive referrals for workers' compensation, auto liability and long-term disability patients. Each patient is customarily seen once. In addition to conducting IMEs, we refer patients for pre-employment physicals and fitness-for-duty testing.
A detailed narrative report, which includes your objective medical opinion to the questions posed, is sent to the requesting party. On occasion, you may be requested to testify and will receive additional payment. CorVel is continually seeking to expand its service to include additional physicians who provide IMEs.
